Over Half a Million a Year

The restaurant’s location has historical significance. In the mid 1800s, military leaders in Spanish Louisiana, like Francisco Bouligny, developed streets connecting residential areas to the business district. Now known as St. Charles Avenue, it was named to honor Charles III, who was a Saint and former King of Spain. As a result, of naming an uptown-to-downtown street after a Spaniard they needed balance. Bouligny’s descendants named their north-south road Napoleon Avenue after Napoleon Bonaparte.

In its own distinctive identity, Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar draws you into the restaurant through its revolving doors and your eyes are carried over to the captivating 32-foot, imported zinc metal L-shaped bar from Paris and it has a stamp of authenticity to prove it. The 25-foot ceiling, large antique mirrors, European bistro chairs and clothed tables, oval oyster bar, and antique tiled ceiling enliven the restaurant as if you stepped in a popular brasserie in Paris.
